About Alexandra Valencia
Alexandra Valencia is a passionate Spanish teacher with extensive experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language across diverse educational settings, including afterschool programs, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as continuing education environments. Since 2018, she has taught both in-person and online, bringing language learning to life for her students.
Alexandra holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning the Spanish Language and its Culture from the University of Granada, Spain, and a Certification in Artificial Intelligence in ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) from International House Cádiz. In addition, she holds a Specialist Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) from Externado University and a Specialist in Innovation from EAN Business School in Bogotá, Colombia. Her academic foundation also includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Since 2019, Alexandra has been a collaborating professor at the Instituto Cervantes in New York City and has worked as a freelance Spanish teacher, offering private and group classes for adults both online and in-person.
Her commitment to professional growth is evident through her active participation in key industry conferences, including the 2023 ACTFL Conference and the 2024 AATSP Conference, where she presented a workshop on integrating artificial intelligence tools into language learning.
Currently, Alexandra works full-time as a high school Spanish teacher, AI consultant, and private tutor. Also, is pursuing an Advanced Spanish Graduate Certificate (Grades 7-12) at the City College of New York, further solidifying her expertise in teaching adolescents and high school students.
